Dave’s Perspective: I left Harper bright and early this morning. Highway 160 runs along the bottom of the state and is only about 20 miles north of Oklahoma. Nice rolling countryside today. Yesterday, not much wild life to look at. Today, several deer, some frogs, more large birds, and a couple of field mice ducking back into the weeds. All interesting.
Tomorrow, answer to the pressing question of what I think while I am out riding. People have asked. Now people will know.
I got 58 miles in today. My total miles are now 990.5.
Very nice day today. Beautiful weather, no real traffic, green everywhere, and a quilt trail to follow. The habit of decorating barns is an old one, but there seems to be a modern twist happening. Ohio started a trend of making large quilts from wood, plastic, metal, or other substances and attaching them to their barn. Some of these are humongous. All around the mid-west you can follow trails of farms with these Barn Quilts. I found my first one in Oxford, but there are many in the Winfield area. I found a number of them, and have addresses for more that I will search for on my way out of town tomorrow. I know; it doesn’t take much to excite me.
