I fondly remember, many crazy adventures with my family over the years. As I grew older, I realized that these adventures were brain child of my mother with my dad happily going along for the ride. So, when dad excitedly shared his desire to travel across the country on a bicycle, I immediately said, “Yes.”
How could I say, “No.” Of course, I didn’t own a bicycle nor was I in the best shape physically. As luck would have it, I hadn’t spent my tax return and the money was just burning a whole in my pocket. It wasn’t long before I was parted with my money and sent home with a new bike, new clothes, and a crazy new desire to ride a bike. Now, a year later, I have logged over 1,600 miles on my bike. I still have a long way to go, but I have come so far. Thanks dad, for inviting me along on this journey.
